Troy's Blessing

I'm pretty late posting this, but better late than never. Troy was blessed on March 29, here in freezing Utah. It was great because the in-laws got to come out and visit and meet Troy for the very first time. We had a fun time with Jason Swims, who also made it to the blessing. I can't believe how fast time flies because it was less than two years ago that we were blessing Rheagan!

What a proud papa! (he looks kinda angry...but he's just really cold!)

It was just like yesterday

Troy McKay Goddard

Troy was born on January 12 at 1:21 pm. I was in labor for only about six hours total but never felt a single contraction thanks to an immediate epidural. It was a much easier experience compared to Rheagan's delivery. He weighed 7 lb. 13 oz. and was 21 inches long. He came out a bit jaundiced so we had to take him back to the doctor's everyday for six days to keep getting shots in his foot to test his billirubin score. The doctor eventually sent home a bilibed (a tanning bed type thing that fits in his crib) which he stayed in for about three days 24/7 until his score came down. Now he is two weeks old and is a perfect and healthy baby. He has really dark features compared to Rheagan with his dark hair, and almost black eyes. I think he is a spitting image of James right now. He has dimples on both cheeks and is sure to be a heartbreaker one day!

Rheagan absolutely loves her little brother and calls him "Choo". She likes to help feed him by holding the bottle to his mouth, and assisting when changing his diaper. Sometimes she loves him a little too much when hugging and kissing him so we have to make sure she doesn't smother him unintentionally...lol. So, everyone loves little Troy and he's proving to be a perfect addition to our family!

Fun Times

It's been awhile since I've posted because of the move and all. So here's a couple of pictures of Halloween and our recent trip to the zoo with the family!

A Day at the Doctor's Office

I don't know where she got it from but Rheagan has always been small and skinny. So when I took her to the doctor's office the other day it was no surprise to me that she is still in the lower 5th percentile. The doctor was kind of concerned and started asking me what I fed her and what she drank during the day. When I came around to tell him that she drinks 3-4 sippy cups of milk a day, he freaked out and gave me the "bad mommy lecture". He immediately gave her a hemoglobin test, a prick in the foot, which told us she was anemic. Now, I'm no medical genius so I'm thinking this is really serious and I'm the worst mother ever. Turns out, after doing some research on my own, 20% of kids are anemic (granted most of them live in third-world countries) and it's pretty common. All I have to do is make sure she eats more instead of filling up on milk. And here I thought that milk was great for her - "builds strong bones and an excellent source of calcium". Who would have thought that an excessive amount of milk is actually really bad for a kid's something or other in their stomach? Guess I won't be receiving any "Mother of the Year" awards! Parents - be aware of the cow!

Baby Contest

The local radio station 104.3 is holding a "Cutest Baby" contest. Some of the qualities they are looking for are facial beauty, how photogenic the baby is, and picture originality. The winner gets a bunch of cool prizes, most importantly, $20,000 for college!!! This is the picture I submitted of Rheagan. I thought she looked so docile and beautiful in this pic. - just like an angel!! (haha). You can vote for her at www.kbig104.com, keyword "baby". To find her, all you do is click on the letter "R" (for Rheagan) and her pic should be there starting on Tuesday of this week. If she doesn't become a finalist for round 3, then she'll be up there for round 4 and you can vote for her again. Also, there is another beauty pageant coming up in November that we're super-psyched for. She did so well in her first pageant when she was only five months old that we know she'll be great now! Thanks guys!

The Ultrasound

So we had our very first ultrasound on Friday and I wasn't expecting much since I'm still pretty early. The doctor even said that she probably wouldn't be able to tell much because he was so small. I told her that was okay because I knew it was a girl and I'm always right when I guess, even on other people. A few minutes went by, as I'm still professing my confidence that Rheagan would be having a sister, when the doctor looks at me with this little smirk that said "Ha ha....you're wrong!" Oh well, there's always a fist time for everything. So, I officially have to put away all of my cute, little girl clothes that I love so much but that just means I get to buy even more cute, little boy clothes. James and I are pretty excited, though James will never admit it since he was determined to have all of the girls in the family! :) Though, this way he gets to have his little baseball champ!

Baby Korinne!

Yay for baby Korinne's arrival! Korinne is beautiful with lots of dark hair and cute little dimples. Rheagan loves her little cousin already and is having a fun time learning how to be "soft" with the baby! Sorry Kristine about the picture. Love ya!!
